Texas Man Who Killed Girlfrind, Her Mom & Grandfather Executed

A Texas inmate has been executed for the killings of his 15-year-old girlfriend, her mother and her grandfather nearly 13 years ago in Houston. Derrick Dewayne Charles, 32, became the seventh prisoner put to death this year in the nation's most active capital punishment yesterday. He was pronounced dead at 6:36 p.m. CDT, 25 minutes after being given the execution drug.

As the pentobarbital took effect, he took two breaths, yawned and then appeared to go to sleep. Six relatives of Charles' victims witnessed the execution, but he made no eye contact with them.

His lawyers had argued that he was mentally incompetent for execution and that they needed more time. But the judge frowned at the statement and sentenced him to death after 13 years of in and out of court.

TAKE IT EASY

Vividly recall the story of a man who became popular for engaging in money rituals just to buy the 80's edition of the Honda Prelude; you wouldn't buy that car for 50k today.

A guy brutally murdered his brother, just because he wanted to acquire the rave of the moment - Pathfinder Jeep.
That same vehicle is now better described as a coffin.... Vanity

I remember as a kid, my whole street gathered at a neighbour's house to watch a"drama" shown on a "double-door black & white television".
Today there is plasma television and its almost found in every student's room..... Vanity

Some ladies left their true loves because some rich guy then persuaded them with a Benz 190, which turned out to be the only car they ever owned till date.
They found out too late that true love is invaluable..... Vanity

David Cameron wins election, gets to stay another 5 years

David Cameron is on course for an extraordinary victory as 'shy Tories' came out at the last moment to keep him in Downing Street. He said it was 'too early to say' what the final result of the General Election would be, but added that there was 'the chance now to build on the foundation' laid in the last parliament.

But the Tory leader will have to deal with SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon who is cleaning up north of the border, leaving Scotland as a near one-party state.
In a signal that he now accepts he will not be PM, Mr Miliband said the next government 'has a huge responsibility' to hold the UK together.
The SNP tide has swept aside Labour and Lib Dem big beasts including Jim Murphy and Douglas Alexander in a tide of nationalism which has already sparked calls for a second independence referendum.
There are doubts that Mr Miliband will survive as leader until Friday lunchtime, as he faces being left with 17 fewer seats than Gordon Brown, slumping to 239.
Some 50million people were eligible to vote in the most closely fought campaign in a generation. Opinion polls in recent weeks had Labour and the Tories neck and neck, suggesting Britain faced political deadlock.

But an exit poll released at 10pm on Thursday suggested voters switched to the Conservatives at the last moment, giving Mr Cameron an unexpected but welcome boost.

Congratulations!

He also stated that he only supported Governor Ajimobi during his campaign because he knows he can do it. Below is what he told Encomium Magazine;

‘‘I don’t understand what you mean by lobbying Ajimobi for political offer. That can’t be true. It’s just what some people are imagining because of my relationship with him. They don’t even know we are from the same place. He’s from Ibadan South East where I am also from. Former Governor Rashidi ladoja is also from Ibadan South East. But during the Governorship Campaign, I decided to support Ajimobi, not because I wanted anything from him but because I knew he could do it.

I didn’t relocate to Ibadan for political reasons. The fact is that I have been in Ibadan for some time now. See What Happens When You Hope Too Much On Prayer

It is good to pray, don't get me wrong. But people should stop trying to push everything to prayer, including what they are expected to do for themselves. Do your best, then you can back up with prayer.

Look around you, majority of the products you are buying or using were made or built by people who don't pray. Sometime ago, Jose Mourino said he doesn't pray before a match because he believes God is not partial and would not give victory to a team that did not prepare. Today his team is the champion.

The recent fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao also captured this fact. Many people said Mayweather is a rough guy, loud mouthed, arrogant, all about money, etc. The same people said Pacquiao is a good guy, he goes to church and prays like a true Christian. They wanted him to him.

At the end of the day, the man who is better prepared, not the prayer warrior, won the battle..

BUHARI WILL SHOCK MANY PEOPLE FROM MAY 29

A chieftain of the APC, Chief Inibehe Okori, has said that the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, will shock many, especially critics, with his pronouncements on May 29 as soon as he takes over power.

“Unlike other presidents who were not prepared for leadership but foisted on the country by individuals and interest groups, the President-elect has consistently presented himself to the electorate to lead the country on four occasions and had his visions well enunciated.

“Buhari is taking over government on May 29 and from that day,
I expect that he will make major pronouncements that will position Nigeria for greatness. This country must have a direction and move in the way it should. We don’t have any reason to be poor. We have no reason to remain the way we are – not after earning more than $50bn annually from oil and gas.”

President Jonathan Blamed For Death of Pregnant Lady

The father of a 26-year-old pregnant woman, who was murdered in the Arepo area of Ogun State last week, has blamed President Goodluck Jonathan for the incident.

Mr. Babafemi Ojo, whose daughter Damilola Fajana, was killed on April 28, said this in a statement.

The father said, “My daughter was killed in a crossfire while driving back home after a hard day’s job. Damilola was a 26 year old pregnant lawyer. She was a graduate of the University of Ado Ekiti.

“President Jonathan is linked to her death by the reason of his patronage of people who have no basic training in arms and weaponry — in the business of pipeline protection, a very dangerous security enterprise which is supposed to fall under the purview of trained Nigerian security agencies.”

He added that, “The unconstitutional empowerment of ethnic militias has resulted in the deaths of many innocent Nigerians, particularly in Arepo area of Ogun State."

Mr Ojo said it was unfortunate that Jonathan could hire the services of the OPC and award the group a huge contract just because he wanted to win an election.
His daughter was killed by a stray bullet during a gun battle between the OPC and pipeline vandals.

TRIBUTE TO TINUBU: A Parody of Shakespeare

By Mohammed Adamu
His name is now as household as the “report of fashion in proud Italy”. He is a leader of leaders; and a true leader at that; because he commands not from the rear, but he braces, with his chest the heat and the chill of all battles. He is the veritable “Knight of the Garter” of our contemporary politics; “valiant and virtuous, full of haughty courage, such as is grown to credit by the wars; not fearing death nor shrinking from distress, but always resolute in most extremes”.
Time has proved that where “your ‘good’ word cannot advantage him, your slander never can en-damage him”.
